The Women's Tour (2.WWT) of the UAE Team ADQ started with a second place for Sofia Bertizzolo. The Italian rider took the Silver in the first stage of 142.1 km between Colchester and Bury St. Edmunds.

Despite the cold and rain, the team has executed a sophisticate plan to position Sofia Bertizzolo in the best situation to launch her sprint slightly uphill on the cobblestones but has been overtaken at the last moment by the French rider Clara Copponi (FDJ Novelle-Aquitaine Furturoscope).

Jargon :  What is the Combativity Award ?

Historically, it favored constant attackers as it was based on the distance spent in a breakaway, included winning checkpoints and outright stage wins. Today, the winner is chosen by a jury. Besides the overall winner, the jury also awards a combativity award to the most aggressive rider at the end of each stage, with this rider allowed to wear a red number the following race day It is a way to celebrate brave riders who push their limits”Erica Magnaldi fourth in the Queen Stage* of the Tour de Suisse Women

We offer a truly inclusive ride (5km; 10km; 15km and more) that all ladies are welcome to join whatever their fitness level. We are able to take care of the newbies in the world of cycling as well as take the current riders to the next level under the guidance of our coaching team. We have reached up to 30 participants per training ‘session. With a strong commitment from our riders even during the summer period.
Based on this success, we have decided to build up a second group of ladies’ riders on Friday mornings, aimed towards the more advanced riders looking to build endurance over a longer distance (50-80k Yes it's possible!). As you may know, we have an incredible cycling track dedicated to cyclists only on Hudayriyat Island so we can take care of the coaching without having to worry about added risk of traffic.
